Postdisciplinary Knowledge is the first book to articulate postdisciplinarity in philosophical, theoretical and methodological terms, helping to establish it as an important intellectual movement of the twenty-first century. He is mainly interested in the way social realities are constructed, and the implication and possibilities this denotes for different peoples. His research is broad and multifaceted, ranging from the philosophy of science to specific areas of phenomenology, social constructionism, post-existentialism, sustainable leadership and a host of conceptual, theoretical and methodological issues examined in the context of events, tourism and leisure. Tomas has been officially recognised by receiving the 2014 Vice Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, and the subsequent nomination by AUT for the 2015 Tertiary Teaching Excellence Award (TTEA). He is the author of Epistemology and Metaphysics for Qualitative Research (2016).
