The Prince in the Crystal Palace by Sam Godwin
The hero of this story is 10-year-old George Peel who lives in London's East End. His Uncle Herbert has been assigned guard duty on the building of the Crystal Palace, and one day he takes him along to see the progress. George is looking at the dinosaurs on the geological island when he is approached by an elegant gentleman with a foreign accent and is astonished when he lately realises he was actually Prince Albert himself.
Sam Godwin is one of the most popular children's authors working today. Under his own name Saviour Pirotta and his pseudonym Sam Godwin, he has written a wide range of fiction and non-fiction texts and won awards both here and in the US.
