Mead's articles and photographs have appeared in a wide range of international, national and regional magazines. He is a Past President of the Southeastern Outdoor Press Association and a member of the Board of Directors of the Outdoor Writers Association of America. Both organizations have recognized Mead's work with Excellence in Craft awards.
