Re-enter the SAS by Alan Hoe

By the end of 1951 the Malayan Scouts had changed their name to 22 SAS Regiment and a regular regiment was therefore once more part of the British Army Order of Battle. 22 SAS operated with distinction throughout the Malayan Campaign and have since become part of modern military history through their successes in every British campaign since Korea. This is the story of some of those officers and soldiers, the problems they faced, their mistakes, their humour and the hard work required to reform their regiment.
Hoe, Alan: - Alan Hoe enlisted into the Royal Corps of Signals at the age of fifteen years. At the age of eighteen he joined 22 SAS Regiment. He remained with the SAS for over twenty years achieving the rank of major and taking part in five active service campaigns. After his retirement he spent many years in South America in risky security work. During his army service and after he knew John Woodhouse, as a military subordinate and latterly as a friend.
