Rhythm Reading by Daniel Kazez
Each pattern is introduced in a step-by-step process that encourages students to read rhythms not as individual notes but as groups of notes. These groups then recur throughout the text in a variety of carefully graded exercises.
Daniel Kazez, Wittenberg University, Professor of Music at Wittenberg University, is a cellist with degrees from Oberlin, the Peabody Conservatory of Music, and the University of Michigan. Besides Rhythm Reading, Dr. Kazez has also written on music theory and performance pedagogy, and has made a dozen editions and arrangements of Baroque music. He has lectured at many of the leading music schools and conservatories throughout the United States.
