Alfred Bestall is best-known worldwide for his stories about Rupert Bear. He started illustrating and writing the Rupert Bear stories for the Daily Express in 1935. His finest artwork and the best, and most popular, stories have been reproduced in this treasury. Great care and sensitivity has been given not to interfere with his original work. Prolific broadcaster, presenter, novelist, biographer and former Conservative Party politician, Gyles Brandreth is best-known for his appearances on Countdown and TV AM. In 2006, Brandreth appeared in the BBC Radio 4 comedy Living with the Enemy.
