Snail-Mail No More by Ann Martin

How does Tara*Starr cope with a new baby in the family - will she and her boyfriend get back together? How is Elizabeth dealing with her father's departure? Can the two girls sustain their friendship as life changes once more for both of them?
If Danziger and Martin had been childhood pen pals, their correspondence might have read much like this strikingly insightful epistolary novelEach known for a finely tuned ear to her audience, the venerable authors here do a splendid job of creating a story based on the letters exchanged between 12 year old best friends, one of whom has just moved to another state. The authors' distinctive voices give the collaboration a rare spontaneity and realism...Given Danziger's and Martin's penchant for continuing storylines, readers can only hope that this will be an ongoing correspondence. * PUBLISHER'S WEEKLY *
P.S. Longer Letter Later has two attractive main characters, and it is a lively and engaging duet without a sour note. Given both authors' propensity for writing series, is it unreasonable to expect a sequel? * NEW YORK TIMES *
Emotions well written, as you would expect from this pairing. * THE BOOKSELLER *
Friends themselves, Paula Danziger and Ann M Martin are the creators of many books for young readers. Paula writes in Tara*Starr's voice in this novel, and Ann in Elizabeth's. They created the book letter by letter, neither knowing exactly what would come next. Paula Danziger lives between New York City and Woodstock and enjoys travelling and collecting beaded and sequinned shoes, and her idea of gardening is to plant wooden tulips. Ann Martin lives in Boiceville, NY and enjoys sewing and needlework, and her idea of travelling is to move from one room in her house to another.
