Bernard Goldstein was born in 1889 and rose to prominence as a leader of the Jewish workers' group, the Bund, as well as a member of the Jewish underground resistance during WWII. He emigrated to America after escape the ghetto and eventually Poland, where he produced a memoir of his five and a half years in the Warsaw ghetto.
