Vultures of a Kind by Kelechi Ezeigwe

The working of the mind of a people is always gradual, intentional, and deliberate. The seeds of hatred and segregation are often deliberately sown and gradually take root. They used the weapon of ethnicity - which should have been a binding force of progress, power, peace, and unity - as a force of separation, throwing us into war with each other. Our differences, which are a beautiful thing, were shrouded in darkness whilst they had their hands in the till and our eyes in utter blindfolds.

The eyes of the hyena are sharp; he can smell his prey from afar. When he plays with his prey, paws and kisses it with dewy eyes, it is foolishness for the prey and utter stupidity to think that this is love. The realisation comes only when he has become a meal. Completely vandalised and battered. This is the summation of our love story with our leaders.

How do we restore our sense? How do we make us think again?
