In fact, this is not the case at all: Chiappe and Dingus keep their authoritative account reasonably short and accessible to the average reader. As an account of scientific discovery this could hardly be bettered. For dinosaur enthusiasts it all provides an opportunity to catch up on the latest, amazing discoveries.
