Waterford Whispers News by Colm Williamson

Sending up the Irish government, poking fun at megalomaniac millionaires and showing us the funny side of our obsessions with social media, emojis and Cadbury'd Creme Eggs - just a few of the things that the team at Waterford Whispers News has been getting up to lately. Not to mention giving us comedy gold and brilliant satire on a whole range of issues, including the Marriage Referendum, 1916 commemorations, the US Presidential Election, ISIS and the Catholic church. Waterford Whispers News Takes Over the World brings you brand new stories as well as WWN's best bits including: Uncle Ben shot dead by US police Waterford Crystal Meth announces 45 new jobs WWN guide to ruining November Futurewatch: ISIS moves to Ireland New 'Silage' body spray for single farmers

'No one does it better on the Irish satirical landscape at calling out our foibles than the scabrous Waterford Whispers News, which published the second collection of highlights from its website in book form in the autumnWhether its taking a pop at our politicians (#OnThisDay in 1979 Gerry Adams denied everything) or our pretentiousness (Man on 8th craft beer no longer concerned with full-bodied hoppy flavour) there'll be dozens of stories to make you smile.' Satire Book of the Year, Irish Examiner.

-- Richard Fitzpatrick.
Colm Williamson created Waterford Whispers News in 2009 when he was unemployed. Though it began as a hobby, with Colm sharing stories with family and friends, his unique brand of topical, distinctly Irish satire quickly attracted thousands of fans. Now, WWN has over 200,000 Facebook followers, and an average of 1.8 million page views on the website every month. Colm runs WWN from his home town of Tramore in County Waterford.
