Susan Mayes graduated from Leeds University, UK, with a degree in Creative Arts, studying art and literature. She began her writing career as an author of children's non-fiction, later spreading her literary wings to write children's picture storybooks, as well as creative early learning titles. Amanda is a designer and illustrator who has worked in publishing, design and advertising. Amanda now works from her home studio, and when she's not illustrating and designing she is spending time with her family and enjoying her garden. In fact, if Amanda hadn't gone into design she would have like to be a landscape gardener as the shapes and textures of foliage have always enchanted her.
