I am like the drought, longing for rain.
But I am also like the rain begging for the sun.
I am the flood looking for a way to drain.
I am the howling wind, wondering when the calm will come.

I am winter dreading the cold.
And I am summer dying of thirst.
But I am also the bird flying despite its wings being hurt.

I am the roots that dig deep when the sky doesn't provide.
I am the fear in search of light.
I am my own knight.
I am the howls of the night.
I am the sun that knows I have to rise despite the struggles of life.

And I have also been the monster that haunts my own mind.
The words that strike me where it most hurts.
I am my own ghost that lurks.
I am healing and the injuries.

I am my own armor, but also the dagger.
I am the sorrow concealed by laughter.
When it is today, I am tomorrow.
I am a sunny day but also a natural disaster.
The hurricane and the landfall that causes it to dissipate.
I am my own anchor but also the sweeping waves.

I am the blooms but also the decay.
I am insanity, and I'm also sane.
I am the hope when I no longer want to try.
I am the relief and the disappointed sigh.
I am a human, like everyone else, running on time.
But I will always be the fight no matter how hard I'm hit by life.
