Giacomo Casanova arrives in England in the summer of 1763, seeking a respite from his restless travels. Inevitably, though, he begins the pursuit of a beautiful young woman, Marie Charpillon, not known for her chastity but strangely unwilling to be bedded by the world's most famous romancer.
