Dr Betty Edwards is professor emerita of art at California State University in Long Beach. Her classic DRAWING ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BRAIN is the leading art instruction book in the world at present with over 2.5 million copies sold. She received her doctorate from UCLA in art, education, and the psychology of perception. She speaks regularly at universities, art schools, and businesses, including the Walt Disney Company and Apple. She lives in Santa Monica, California, and is a consultant at many leading creative businesses. Her method of teaching people to draw uses the brain research carried out by Professors Jerome Bruner and Roger Sperry.
