Chris Makepeace has lived in the Manchester area for almost forty years and has a particular interest in the history of the city since the mid-eighteenth century. He started his working career as a librarian in manchester's Local History Library and is now a local history tutor for several different organisations. He has written several pictorial histories of the area.
