Mauricio Rosencof is a well-known Uruguayan playwright, poet, and journalist. Since 2005 he has been Director of Culture of the Municipality of Montevideo.

Louise B. Popkin is a widely published Boston-based translator with strong ties to Uruguay. Her selection of Mario Benedetti's poetry was shortlisted for the 2013 Oxford-Weidenfeld Translation Prize.
