Summary

A boarding school that teaches everything there is to know about football. What more could a football-mad kid want? Roddy Jones may be the star of his school five-a-side team, but he is set for his toughest footballing challenge yet when he is selected to try out for Stadium School, the premier football school in the country.

Hot Prospect Summary

Hot Prospect by Cindy Jefferies

Stadium School is more than just a special summer course, it's a really cool school that teaches its students everything about football. With its state-of-the-art facilities, top coaches and location in the grounds of a former football stadium, the school is the place for aspiring footballers. And better still it's a co-ed boarding school, so the kids can live and breathe football from morning to night. Roddy Jones is the star of his school five-a-side team, in which he plays alongside his best friend Bryn. However, Roddy has bigger dreams. So when he is spotted by a scout for Stadium School and invited to a trial he is determined to win a place, whatever it takes. But even if he does get in, will his parents be able to afford the fees and how will Roddy feel about leaving Bryn behind?

About Cindy Jefferies

Before becoming a full-time writer Cindy Jefferies had a varied career that had nothing to do with writing, including being a Venetian-mask maker and a video DJ. Cindy's first novel, Sebastian's Quest, was published by Barry Cunningham at Chicken House. Now she is best known for her popular series Fame School (Usborne) set at a school for the performing arts. Stadium School is Cindy's first book co-written with her son Seb, who is perhaps even more football-mad than the books' characters. When not thinking about football, Seb plays in an indie band.
