New Writing Scotland is the principal forum for poetry and short fiction in Scotland today. Every year it publishes the very best from both emerging and established writers, and lists many of the leading literary lights of Scotland among its past (and present) contributors. She Said He Said I Said: New Writing Scotland 35 is the latest collection of excellent contemporary literature, drawn from a wide cross-section of Scottish culture and society, and includes new work from nearly fifty authors - some award-winning and internationally renowned, and some just beginning their careers.

About Diana Hendry

Diana Hendry has published poetry, short stories and more than forty books for children. Her most recent publication is The Seed-Box Lantern: New & Selected Poems (Mariscat Press 2013). Prior to this she has published five collections of poems, Making Blue, Borderers, Twelve Lilts: Psalms & Responses, Late Love & Other Whodunnits and a poetic collaboration with Tom Pow, Sparks! Diana's short stories have been widely published in journals and anthologies and regularly broadcast on BBC Radio 4. Her children's books include Harvey Angell which won a Whitbread Award, and The Seeing which last year was shortlisted both for the Costa Prize and a Scottish Children's Book Award. Susie Maguire is a writer best known for short stories. As well as publishing two collections - The Short Hello and Furthermore - more than thirty of her stories have been broadcast on BBC Radio 4 and Radio Scotland. She is an experienced editor, having produced four anthologies to date (Little Black Dress; Something Wicked: new Scottish crime fiction; Scottish Love Stories; and Hoots! An anthology of Scottish comic writing). An accomplished broadcaster and stage performer, with a background in acting, stand-up comedy and television presenting, she is a member of Equity, and of the Society of Authors. An Arvon tutor at Moniack Mhor and The Story House Ireland, she is also a mentor for WoMentoring.
