Help Your Child Develop Emotional Literacy Summary

Help Your Child Develop Emotional Literacy: The parents' guide to happy children by Dr Betty Rudd

This work is a must for all parents who wish to facilitate their child's emotional and mental well being right from the start. This book shows how parents can facilitate their child's emotional and mental well being right from the start. It explains emotional literacy and draws on recent research to offer parents advice and to provide practical step-by-step activities for developing emotional and mental health in their children, from birth to adulthood. Ten areas of emotional literacy are included: focus on the emotions behind the behaviour, be curious, get the complete picture, take responsibility for the atmosphere, be self aware, understand that you can make a difference in your child's life, respect others, intervene in good time, own up to your own feelings, and allow others to be different.
