This book features a collection of photographs, etchings and sketches dating from 1820 to 1967, showing various aspects of island life. The original images were kindly loaned by residents of the island in the 1960s, and the only complete set still in existence is owned by John Rowlands. Inspired by his many fond memories of living on the island, John is passionate about making the Old Hayling Photographic Collection available for all to enjoy. In addition, a brief and fascinating history of the island written by an unknown author has been transcribed and edited to accompany the images.
