The depression is beginning to bite in 1930s Glasgow, but Jean is determined to stay positive and becomes a paid dancing partner at one of the city's many palais de danse. Soon, though, her desire to support her loved ones draws her into a sinister world that lurks behind the club's glamorous facade.
Maggie Craig was brought up in Clydebank and Glasgow. She is married with two children. She is the author of a non-fiction book, Damn' Rebel Bitches, about the women of the Jacobite rebellion.
