Summary

Bailey and Lissack and their PricewaterhouseCoopers team present their vision of what's next for the new economy. The idea is that the real promise of the Web lies in B-to-E, which once meant business-to-employee, but in PwC parlance now means business-to-everything.

A Thousand Tribes Summary

A Thousand Tribes: How Technology Unites People in Great Companies by Robin Lissak

The promise of the Internet fulfilled In this groundbreaking book, the experts at PricewaterhouseCoopers share their vision and astonishing track record for a new Internet model: B-to-E, business-to-employee, or more appropriately, business-to-everything. In the B-to-E model, employees of large corporations can conduct all professional and personal business through a single corporate web portal. The result is not only a more integrated, dynamic corporate community, but also huge potential cost savings maximizing technology already in place. Illuminating case studies of Hewlett Packard, Ford Motor Company, and others demonstrate that the future of the Internet is as first promised: unified enterprises, empowered individuals, new horizons for both. Robin Lissack is a partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers and an expert in B-to-E issues. George Bailey is the leader of PricewaterhouseCoopers' B-to-E business in the western United States.
