People in the business quickly recognized her talent, and she was hired to shoot more than 60 commercials. However her first major motion picture was not until January 1997 when she landed the part(s) of the twins in the remake of "The Parent Trap". Lindsay's acting talent was officially recognised with a Young Artist Award for Leading Actress (which she shared with "Stepmom's" Jena Malone), and nominations for a Young Star Award and a Blockbuster Entertainment Award. She went on to film "Freaky Friday" and "The Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen". In 2004, she sprung into the media spotlight in the UK with a star performance in teen flick "Mean Girls" and followed it in June 2005 with "Herbie Fully Loaded". Having ended 2005 with the launch of her new single "Confessions of a Broken Heart", Lindsay's time in the spotlight was only just beginning. 2006 saw Lindsay pick up a Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Award and the premier of three films including box office hit "Bobby". An ever ascending star Lindsay has four films scheduled to be screened next year and has already entered the pre-production stage on three films for 2008.
