He majored in chemistry, piano, and saxophone at Bristol University, and went on to publish more than 100 books on music, technology, and science, including 101 Amazing Science Experiments, Eyewitness: Music, and How Things Work. He had sold around 10 million volumes by the time he retired. In 2004, he passed away.
