30-Second Rock Music by Mike Evans

30-Second Rock Music starts with 1950s rock’n’roll (and its roots) and explores blues and folk, progressive and heavy metal, punk, indie and alt rock, profiling extraordinary bands and musicians along the way. Featuring groups as diverse as Wilco, The Killers, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Wonder and The White Stripes, this book promises rock fans the world tour of a lifetime, from Detroit to Tokyo and everywhere in between.

MIKE EVANS is the author of Neil Young€”The Definitive History (Sterling, 2012), The Art of BritishRock (Frances Lincoln, 2013), Woodstock€”Three Days That Rocked The World (Sterling, 2010), BowieTreasures (Carlton, 2014), The Beatles€”Literary Anthology (Plexus, 2004), the acclaimed The Art Of The Beatles (Frederick Muller, 1984), and Elvis: A Celebration (Dorling Kindersley, 2002), a bestselling collaboration with the Presley estate. A graduate of the Cavern Club with two singles on Decca under his belt, Mike€”with poet Adrian Henri and future Pink Floyd guitarist Andy Roberts€”performed as The Liverpool Scene, supporting both Led Zeppelin and Bob Dylan in 1969. He subsequently moved into radio and writing for Sounds, Melody Maker, and the Guardian. Since the late 1980s, Mike has commissioned and edited over sixty books on music, movies, and fashion.
