Animal Neighbours: Deer by Michael Leach
This lovely new title follows the life cycle of a deer, from a kid's first wobbly steps to finding a mate. You can also find out about some of the different habitats that are the deer's home, the threats facing deers today and why some people see them as pests. You can also be an 'animal detective' and find out how you can tell if a deer has been in your neighbourhood. Includes an animal map, locator map, life cycle summary and 'unusual fact' boxes.>
Michael Leach is a natural history author, photographer and television cameraman specialising in mammals, both common and rare. He has written over 24 wildlife books and has filmed natural history programmes for a number of television companies, including the BBC. In the past few years he has studied mountain gorillas in Rwanda, orangutans in Borneo and deer in his Shropshire garden.
