At the Dog Park with Sam and Lucy by Daisy Bix

There are dog parks in all but three states, and an increasing number of the nation's 65 million dog owners are discovering their various pleasures.

In this first-ever children's book about dog parks, dogs Sam and Lucy eagerly take part in a dog fiesta of movement and fun, running off-leash, free to cavort, to meet and greet, to leap and chase.

The final page has information for those adults who haven't yet been to one about what to expect at a dog park and how to create a new one.

Daisy Bix, aka Emilie Buchwald, lives in Minneapolis, MN. She is the author of At the Dog Park with Sam and Lucy (The Gryphon Press), and two award-winning children's novels, Gildaen and Floramel and Esteban. Buchwald was the founding copublisher/editor of Milkweed Editions and is the publisher of The Gryphon Press. Her awards include the National Book Critics Circle Lifetime Achievement Award.

Joe Hyatt's dog portraits are in private collections throughout the United States. He is also the illustrator of Maggie's Second Chance ( The Gryphon Press, May 2011). He and his wife and their (rescued) dogs live in Northern California.
