This is the second in a series of three volumes dedicated to digital synthesis and sound design. It is part of a teaching method incorporating a substantial amount of online supporting materials: hundreds of sound examples and interactive examples, programs written in Max, as well as a library of Max objects created especially for this book. Structured for use in university courses, the book is an overview of the theory and practice of Max/MSP, with a glossary of terms and suggested tests that allow students to evaluate their progress. This book will provide a reader with skill and understanding in using Max/MSP for sound design and musical composition.

Ense�a Composici�n en el Conservatorio de Latina, y T�cnicas de programaci�n con Max en los conservatorios de Latina y Frosinone (Italia). Compone m�sica instrumental y electroac�stica. Ha desarrollado softwares para la composici�n algor�tmica, la improvisaci�n electroac�stica y el live electronics. Es fundador de Amazing Noises, una empresa inform�tica que implementa aplicaciones de m�sica y plug-in para dispositivos m�viles y computadoras tradicionales. Es partner de Ableton para el desarrollo de dispositivos Max for Live. Ha publicado tutorial sobre Max en revistas especializadas. Adem�s, ha sido seleccionado como artista residente en Par�s (Cit� Internationale des Arts) y en Lyon (GRAME). Ha colaborado con el Institut Nicod alla �cole Normale Sup�rieure de Par�s, y en un proyecto de filosof�a del sonido.
