Mary Stanley was raised and educated in Dublin. Her début novel, Retreat (2001), was a bestseller. Her other novels include: Missing (2002), Revenge (2003), Searching for Home (2005) and The Lost Garden (2006). She has also written numerous short stories, which appear in different collections and on RTÉ Radio.
