How to File for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy by Cara O'neill

If you're overwhelmed with debt but can't afford a lawyer, How to File for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy will help guide you through the process while teaching you how to:

  • stop wage garnishments and lawsuits
  • erase qualifying debt
  • deal with debts secured with collateral
  • keep as much property as possible, and
  • rebuild credit after bankruptcy

The 22nd edition includes revised instructions, changes to state property exemption laws (which determine the assets bankruptcy filers can keep), and critical legal updates.

(This book does not cover business bankruptcies, farm reorganizations, or individual repayment plans under Chapter 13. For Chapter 13 bankruptcy, see Nolo's Chapter 13 Bankruptcy.)
