This useful volume by a pioneering linguist at Yale is a practical, step-by-step guide to the contents and use of the Tz'u hai. Primarily meant for the beginning student of classical or historical texts, this book was originally published under the title, ZH GUIDE.

George A. Kennedy, who spent twenty-eight years at the University of North Carolina teaching classics, comparative literature, and rhetoric, now lives in Fort Collins, Colorado. He is the acclaimed translator of Aristotle's On Rhetoric: A Theory of Civic Speech (OUP, 1991), as well as the author of several publications.
