Looking in the Same Direction by Don Snuggs

When Kim's adoptive parents are killed in a car crash, her whole world begins to unravel. Turning to her fiance for support, she reveals that she is pregnant with their child. But he reacts angrily and explodes with rage, assaulting her violently and throwing her out of their shared flat. Discovering his hidden past as an extreme right-winger known to police, Kim finds herself alone with nowhere to go. Turning to a former nursing colleague, she finds refuge for a while. But as a result of the assault, she miscarries her unborn child. As Kim tries to deal with the heartache from the loss of her child, her life takes another dramatic turn when a car accident leaves her paralysed. With support from her former colleague, Kim learns to live and love again. Despite her trauma and losses, she finds happiness and positivity in her new life.
