The story of Jesus is told through ground-breaking model animation from S4C in Wales, produced in the studios in Moscow which made many of the animated Shakespeare's Tales. The film portrays the humanity of Jesus' life, and the involvement of Tamar, Jairus' daughter, gives a strong children's perspective on the story. Both film and book have been approved by various theological experts including the Right Reverend Lord Habgood, Archbishop of York, and the voices of the characters are provided by a star-studded cast including: Ralph Fiennes - Jesus Ian Holm - Pilate Miranda Richardson - Mary Magdalene William Hurt - Jairus Julie Christie - Rachel (Jairus' wife) David Thewlis - Judas Ken Stott - Simon Peter Antony Sher - Ben Azra Richard E Grant - John the Baptist.
