The Norton Introduction to Literature by Kelly J Mays

This unparalleled collection offers the trusted writing guidance students need, along with the exciting mix of the stories, poems, and plays instructors want. The Thirteenth High School Edition adds more contemporary and diverse works to engage today's students, and new pedagogical tools--in print and online--help foster close reading and careful writing, making this book the best choice for helping students appreciate, analyze, and write about literature.

Kelly J.Mays has been teaching writing and literary classes for 25 years, including at Stanford University (where she got her Ph.D.), the Harvard Expository Writing Program, New Mexico State University, and the University of Nevada Las Vegas (where she has been an Associate Professor of English since 2001). She is currently working on a book that explores why and why nineteenth-century Britons began to identify their age, their literature, and even themselves Victorian. Her work has published in Victorian Studies, Victorian Poetry, Critical Inquiry, and other prominent scholarly magazines.
