David C. Taylor was born and raised in Henrietta, NY. He graduated from Howard University in 1982 with a degree in film and television production. His feature-film experience includes working on She's Gotta Have It (PA) and School Daze (2nd AD), Girl 6 (video TD), Summer of Sam (additional sound and video recordist), and Dead Presidents (writer, director, editor, behind the scenes/EPK). The short film The Session, which won the Paul Robeson Award and the Black Filmmakers Foundation Award, was based on his skit The Deprogrammer which was produced as a feature film by Spike Lee in 1994. In 2014 he formed a film production company entitled Clearview Filmwerks. He is producing, writing and directing plays, films, and books.
