Recovery from Schizophrenia by Richard Warner

The first edition of Recovery of Schizophrenia was acclaimed on publication as a work of major importance. It demonstrated convincingly, but controversially, how political, economic and labour market forces shape social responses to the mentally ill, mould psychiatric treatment philosophy, and influence the onset and course of one of the most common forms of mental illness. In this revised and fully updated edition, Dr Warner examines the changes in approach to schizophrenia since publication of his original book and analyses new research to answer the question: `Are they advances or not?'
Warner, Dr Richard: - These images from the Historical Society of Pottawattamie County and the Council Bluffs Public Library show Broadway s transformation from dirt and wagons to automobiles and pavement as western trails grew into transcontinental highways. It is a street made for parades with more than its share of fires, floods, and car wrecks. The portraits in Council Bluffs: Broadway not only document the history of a community but also the crossroads of a nation. Dr. Richard Warner is a dentist in Council Bluffs, and Ryan Roenfeld is a local historian. Both serve on the historical society board of directors.
