The Road Is Long: The Hollies Story by Brian Southall

The Hollies are the English Rock Group known for their pioneering and distinctive three part vocal harmony style. They became one of the leading British groups of the 1960s and achieved US chart success in 1966 with their hit 'Bus Stop'. Graham Nash left the group in 1968 to form the super group Crosby, Stills & Nash.
Brian Southall began writing about pop music in the 1960s on a local newspaper before graduating to the likes of Melody Maker and Disc. He then pursued a 30-year career in the record business working for A&M, Tamla Motown, EMI, and Warner Music. His first book Abbey Road: The Story of the World's Most Famous Recording Studios (Omnibus Press) was published in 1982 and since then he has written The A-Z of Record Labels (Sanctuary Publishing); The Sex Pistols 90 Days at EMI (Omnibus Press), Northern Songs (Omnibus Press); If You Don't Know Me By Now (Carlton Books); Pop Goes To Court (Omnibus Press); and most recently The Rise & Fall of EMI (Omnibus Press).
