Usually observed as a flash of blue and orange from a riverbank, most people are aware of Kingfishers, but few of us are familiar with the intricacies of their day-to-day lives. David Chandler is based in Cambridge, and worked for the RSPB and BirdLife International for nearly 20 years. He is now a freelance writer and ornithologist and has authored a number of titles, including the RSPB Children’s Guide to Birdwatching and All About Garden Wildlife.
