Since 1993, she has taught Philosophy and World Religions as an adjunct professor at the University of New Mexico-Taos. Mirabai Starr is a highly recognized author and translator of sacred literature who talks and teaches on the wisdom of the mystics and contemplative practice both domestically and globally. She is an expert on contemplative practice, interspiritual experience, and the transformative impact of loss, and she teaches and lectures widely on these topics. Dark Night of the Soul by John of the Cross, Teresa of Avila's The Inner Castle and The Book of My Life, Julian of Norwich's The Showings, Mother of God Like to Fire (in conjunction with iconographer William Hart McNichols), and Contemplations, Prayers, and Living Wisdom (Sounds True) are among her works.
