Developed by legendary cartoon creators, Hanna-Barbera, Scooby-Doo first aired in the USA in September 1969, Originally conceived as a comedy/adventure cartoon, it went on to become the longest running US cartoon in history. Scooby-Doo's name comes from Frank Sinatra's rendition of 'Strangers in the Night', in which he croons the immortal line, Scooby-doo.
