SECRETS OF CHESS TRAINING by Mark Dvoretsky

This chess book describes the methods employed by the world's number one trainer, who is a Soviet International Master, based upon his experience of teaching many of today's leading Grandmasters, including Gary Kasparov. There are questions and exercises to test the reader's understanding throughout the book. This is the first book to explain exactly how to set about the difficult task of training chess players. The author takes the endgame as an area of chess frequently neglected by players in their studies and shows the various techniques he employs in teaching his students how to analyze positions and learn from them. In particular, he introduces his technique of presenting players with positions and making them play against each other under tournament conditions.
Dvoretsky, Mark: - Mark Dvoretsky is considered by many to be the premier chess instructor of our era. His works on the middlegame and endgame have set the standard by which other chess books are measured. He lives with his family in Moscow, Russia.
