Saks discusses frankly the paranoia, the inability to tell imaginary fears from real ones, the voices in her head telling her to kill herself (and to harm others), as well as the incredibly difficult obstacles she overcame to become a highly respected professional. Saks is a research clinical associate at the Los Angeles Psychoanalytic Society and Institute and a lecturer at the University of Southern California Law School and the University of California. She obtained her J.D. after graduating from Oxford as a Marshall Scholar. Yale Law School, to be exact. She is a member of the boards of numerous mental health foundations and has written three books and over two dozen articles. Will Vinet, her husband, and she live in Los Angeles.
