Dr. Raman Prinja explains the incredible breakthroughs these images have made about our understanding of the universe, in particular the fresh perspectives that scientists have gained on the structure and origin, as well as the projected future - and fate - of the universe.
Dr Raman Prinja is a Reader in astronomy and astrophysics at University College London (UCL) and conducts research on massive stars in our galaxy. He has been awarded the Pol and Christiane Swings research prize by the Royal Academy of Belgium. He is the author of Understanding the Universe and has written a series of popular astronomy books on the Universe aimed at 7 to 11 year olds.
