Biographies of Henry Clay, Daniel Webster, John Quincy Adams, and Joseph Smith are among his other works. The Western Writers of America awarded his Andrew Jackson and His Indian Warfare the Spur Award for best western nonfiction. He currently resides in Wilmette, Illinois.
