The cupcake version got Bakerella onto the Martha Stewart Show, where she wowed Martha with how cute and easy they were to make. The book includes more than 40 projects from koala bears and cute puppies to ghosts and snowmen. Basic recipes show how to make a classic cake pop and readers can go to the projects to embellish them into fabulously cute treats. Cake pops can be made with boxed cake mix and store-bought frosting but recipes from scratch are included for those who want them. Plus an extensive section of resources includes lists and photos of the different decorations that can be used to make the pops, plus and an array or Web sites to go to find them (though most can be purchased from an average supermarket). Loads and loads of photos are included throughout -- in fact every cake pop has a photo giving readers a visual reference for every project!
Angie Dudley is Bakerella--a blog devoted to baking and especially cake pops. For her day job she is a graphic designer with a Bachelors Degree in Art. She is an amateur baker, photographer and wannabe food stylist (all the photos in the book are by Angie). In addition, she has a line of baking related T-shirts (Bakerella and Bakelove). She was a guest on The Martha Stewart Show in April 2008 during Cupcake Week. Since the appearance, she has created more than 40 cake pop designs.
