Cork and the Bottle by Mark Sommerset
An adventure in relationship, Cork and the Bottle is the second tale in the Cork Voyages trilogy. Having met on a sandy beach at the end of Cork on the Ocean, the cork and the bottle head back out to sea together into a world of dancing jellyfish, surly sea lions, beautiful swallows and a mystical two-headed sea sepent. Told in rhythmic rhyme, with the same lovely colours and illustrative style as Cork on the Ocean, Cork and the Bottle is a whole new ocean-bound adventure that explores love, loss, friendship, loyalty and the joy of togetherness.
Mark Sommerset thinks the world sometimes makes more sense when you look at it upside down. 'Cork' first popped into Mark's mind while he was tumbling around on a small boat in huge Pacific seas - ahhhh! He enjoys making up stories and gettin' down with his guitar. Illustrated by Rowan - Rowan likes to draw things, grow things, think about things and design things. Sometimes she does other things too, like cartwheels in the sand! Rowan is a fan of hot baths, fireworks and fairytales.
