Cracking the SSAT and ISEE by Princeton Review
Everything students need to master the Upper, Middle, and Lower Levels of the SAT or ISE, the most widely used private/independent school entrance exams. The experts at The Princeton Review offer the most complete and effective preparation for two important secondary school admissions exams, the SAT (Secondary School Admission Test) and ISE (Independent School Entrance Examination). The 2020 edition of Cracking the SAT & ISE includes a thorough review of the fundamentals of the Math, Verbal, and Reading sections for both tests. About the tests The SAT has 2 levels (Lower: for students entering grades 6-8; Upper: 9-12), while the ISE has 3 levels* (Lower: grades 5-6; Middle: grades 7-8; Upper: grades 9-12). Both exams test verbal skills, readingcomprehension, and math/quantitative skills, and both have an essay. While most schools require one or the other exam, students who have a choice generally opt for the ISE if they are better-skilled at math, and the SAT if better-skilled in language arts. *The ISE also has a Primary Level for grades 2-4, which is rarely taken; neither our nor competitive titles address it.
