Alessandro Sisti (1960-present), a long-time Italian comics author, began his career at Staff di IF, a hilarious animal art company tasked in the 1980s with several commercial brands, both Disney and non-Disney. Sisti rose to prominence in the 1990s as the writer of several early issues of Paperinik New Adventures, a series (now reissued as IDW's Duck Avenger) that reimagined Donald Duck's superhero exploits in a more modern, terrifying, and serious setting. Sisti went on to write extended adventures starring the Junior Woodchucks and short adventures starring a variety of Disney feature film characters, from Ratatouille's rats to Jack Sparrow and the Pirates of the Caribbean. Sisti has worked as a teacher of other Disney talents at Milan's Accademia Disney, as well as continuing a wealth of non-Disney comics work--as both a historian and an artist, for example on a classic Anne of Green Gables comics adaption.
