Electricity and Magnets by Sarah Angliss

This title contains 40 tried and tested experiments, some classic with up-to-the-minute variations, and some entirely new. Scientific principles are shown in action as well as in photographs of their everyday applications. The experiments are all safe to do, use household materials, are manageable but absorbing, and offer rewarding results. Readers are told how long each experiment lasts, what materials are needed, and what the results mean. Eye-catching illustrations and engaging text make this a perfect book for the budding scientist!
Sarah Angliss has worked at the Science Museum in London, organizing exhibitions and demonstrations, most notably "Things" and "In the Garden", two hands-on galleries for 6 to 14 year olds. She has also written several children's books on applied and contemporary science. Maggie Hewson is a science graduate who has taught primary and secondary pupils for 23 years. She is now the science co-ordinator at Walthamstow Hall Junior School in Kent, England. The school is the distinguished recipient of the nationwide award for Science School of the Year.
